Some of you remember the old loader we had, it was "ok" but a bit cumbersome. also the language it was coded in left a bit to be desired. This time I decided to start with something different. so this time its coded in VB.Net, its much smaller compared to the old version, it has a nice installer, auto checks for updates every time its started but you are asked if you wish to update or not. allows you to turn on wow and clear your cache at the click of a button so you always see the latest DB content! To get the latest loader go to : KP's Den Loader and click on the install button (it works in IE, too make it work in firefox you must get https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1608) this link will lead you to the latest loader published . if that doesnt work for you get it via the link below : http://www.kpsden.com/loader/KPsN_Loader_158.rar (direct link no wait time). the attachement and rapidshare versions are older but after install just restart them via start menu and they will auto update. Updates : added links to various parts of the network. Added a background image. added a register button/form. It sets your realmlist when starting wow. minimizes to tray. once minimized to tray allows to visit a few different websites + start wow from context menu. Updated interface options system added clears cache(configurable) sets realmlist(configurable) checks registry or you can manually set your wow folder(configurable) 7/13/07 - added a second realmlist feature (not perfect yet) that allows people to choose a realmlist in the config (den or other) they can set the second realmlist to anything they want, i.e. another server or official or whatever 7/13/07 - added an amusing splash screen, 7/13/07 - added a secondary check to make sure loader minimizes to tray. .netframe work and coded for windows only. I dont have access to a mac or any real way to code for it. well I updated the loader today with some basic skinning etc. here are some screenshots etc from start to finish The top one is the loader on my screen before skinning (i have vista theme on XP)The bottom one is on Sappem's machine (XP stock theme)Here it is when I just made everything black, buttons about to be addedSemi - Final productfew internal reqritesd of forms/systems to make stuff more standardized, some processing layers removed, standard controls hidden. A new version will come out soon with some new features and also the minimize buttonEDIT1*Exit button changed, minimize button added, going to add a manual news refresh and update check feature the up/down status image(little green thumbs up or red thumbs down) is there to assist in knowing whether server is online or not, and it relies on a better method than ping. thanx imskel for the screeny. the newest loader is above PreReqs : Windows Xp or higher Download details: .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)
Artanix made a loader for the server also his version does NOT need .net framework. Screenshot: KP's Den L×Ħader v1.1 Download [172 KB] All info needed can be found in the included readme. The loader is compatible with all windows operating systems. Please use this thread for any problems/bugs, feedback and even suggestions for features that you think I should add. Your voice will be heard!
I clicked on Leaving KingPin's Forum... now what? If I redownload my game what do I have to do any differently than normal? None of the above works for me either.
Looks like the simple thing is to remove and reinstall Wow onto my C: drive. I'm making sure I have my E: drive unplugged and to use it only for retail!.
well hmm i cant get the irc to pop up using it? totemsftw added 176 Minutes and 2 Seconds later...--------------------------- Double Post automerged --------------------------- i got it
i got the newwest den loader and then it keeps saying unable to install or run the application. the application requires that assembly windowsbase version 3.0.0.0 be installed can you help me?
Alright, downloaded it, installed, but i can't seem to get it to work. I always get a error message saying: "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor." Any ideas?
Cool, I like all the different button's very compact and practical. Only thing I'll say against it is it look's a little cramped. If you made it larger sort of like going towards the blizzard launcher you'd have a better look, and also you could turn that scrolling text box into a big window Just an idea. Maybe i'll try when i work out the VB code for launching program's Very nice though guy's I like both version's the second is tidy-er the first is more practical and together!
