A gentleman showed me two quick methods to remove not needed files, and it worked great for both XP( steps 1 & 2), and Win98SE(step1) )

1) start -> run %temp% and then delete all files in the Temp folder that shows up
2) start ->run Prefetch and then delete all files in the Prefetch folder that shows up

Movies, videos and songs take up lots of space. Delete those that you don't want using Windows Explorer or My Computer. Then go to the control panel, add/remove programs to remove what you don't want. If you don't recognize something, I wouldn't mess with it. In Internet Explorer / Tools delete cookies and files. You may have to re-enter some information when you go to your websites but this will clean up what you don't need, too. Also, empty your recycling bin - click the icon on your desktop. These things should free up lots of space.

Just delete files and programs you don't need or use. Delete cookies and temporary internet files (go to Control panel, performance and maintenance)

Scroll Down To Defragment,and Click,press Analyse And Wait For Prompt,if It Says Defragment,then Click On It,while Its Doing This,you Can Use The Laptop Normally,it Could Take A While,let It Complete
