Can Mysql run on Windows?

I am preparing a SQL Server cert. However some friends told me to learn Mysql using linux. But I know nothing about linux so will it be a good idea to use it on Windows? If not how much linux do I need to know in order to use Mysql on linux? That will be a complement to my SQL Server 2005 Cert. Is it necessary? Will it make me more marketable? How long will it take me. I am 46 and have some experience with computers. Thank you & Merry Christmas

mysql not only run on linux but also on windows. so no need to learn linux unless, required. php and apache(webserver) is also available for windows. so go ahead. most of the php programmers are using windows for development.
