Galley's Hints and Tips

General Turn Tips

How to pick up more turns :

1) If you haven't already got a mount, buy a Stallion - it gives 3 extra forest fights per day just from having it.

2) The amusement park is full of places where you can get more turns. The Popcorn and Cotton Candy refreshments can give 1 and 2 turns extra respectively up to four times a day. (Making a total of 12 turns if you're lucky!)

3) The rides in the amusement park are great too, you can get 5 turns per ride on the Dragon Ride, and you can ride it three times, making a total of 15 turns. The Broomstick ride can also give 3 turns each ride too. So thats 24 turns, just for spending gold.

4) When the Quarry is under attack by Stone Giants, once a day you can fight there, which rewards you with 1 to 4 forest fights depending on how big the Giant was. This also helps get rid of the Stone Giants out of the quarry sooner too.

5) Random events around town can randomly give you turns too, though I think theres a maximum of 4 or 5 from these.

6) Ge'Mah's Relaxation Respite can be used twice for only 2 gems each time, with a chance of getting two additional forest fights a day. Well worth it for the cost.

7) Crazy Audrey’s Kittens can make you lose forest fights, or gain them – for 5 gold, its worth a shot. The maximum here is 5 turns gained if a Hedgehog appears!

There are still LOADS more areas where you can gain turns, but I will actually let you find those ones for yourselves.

Weapons and Armor

When you start off, go to the Blacksmith’s Shoppe to pick up your first weapons. Name them whatever you want. The tier system for weapons can be a little confusing at first, but it’s actually very simple :

“On the wall you see a sign reading:
First Tier Weapon Upgrades: 2 gems, 25 kills
Second Tier Weapon Upgrades: 10 gems, 50 kills
Third Tier Weapon Upgrades: 50 gems, 100 kills
Fourth Tier Weapon Upgrades: 150 gems, 200 kills
Fifth Tier Weapon Upgrades: 250 gems, 300 kills”

This means that for your first weapons, you’ll be wanting First Tier Weapon Upgrades, so everytime you reach 25 kills go back to the Blacksmith’s and pay him 2 gems to upgrade your weapon or armor. Once you have a total of 20 upgrades at First Tier, you can trade your weapons in for new ones, which are Second Tier, needing 50 kills and 10 gems to upgrade each time.

Be wary that when you upgrade your weapons, your kill counter is reset to 0, so it is best to do it as close to 25 as possible. Nothing worse than getting 60 odd kills and losing the remainder when you upgrade.

Squires

One of the first things you should do when you can afford it, is to buy a Squire from Dycedarg’s Academy. It’s an ally that aids you in combat, and also levels up every time you get a few levels to deal more damage. After your Squire reaches a certain level, it can upgrade into a Knight, but it starts from level 0 again, though it can gain a much higher maximum level.

Cartographer

Once you’re settled in town, you might think about going to the Cartographer and buying his basic maps. These give:

The Fruit Orchard, which includes a bunch of quests to find creatures and kill them to get seeds for trees to plant.
The Docks, which doesn’t do anything yet.
The Abandoned Castle, which upon reaching a certain amount of Dragon Kills, opens up into a random maze where treasure and huge monsters can be found.

Special Maps are also available for a huge amount of Gold, Turns and Gems. These open up special dungeons…
