i am having problems with source. i can play it but an error occurs, if i do anything but minimize it , it will shut off source and if i do play with it on itll pop up every 5 min or so. ive been searching forums and i have found several pplz with this similar problem

delete steam.dll from main steam folder. see if that helps.

king i tried this just now and it didnt work the same error appears ive been doing research on this but cant find answers any other sugggestions? thx for help

just a question but are you running any mods? Or are there any weird proggy's open in the backgroud (check task manager). I had a similar problem for a few days and i had to do some extensive spyware/adware searching and removing to fix my problem. I think when mine was doing it i had the VX2 spyware/adware which is a pain in the ass to remove. But I would say just get Spybot S&D, Adaware, and Norton Systemworks 2005 (if you can afford/find it).

This my sound crazy, but I do think its due to your steam gfc files getting corrupted. Try and run a scandisk for your hole computer, if that is fine, check the GFC files from within steam.

To run a scan disk the next time your computer starts, goto start, then run. Type in "chkdsk /r" and then press Y and ENTER. reboot your computer.
