First, I am running it on linux

I have done everything...i have compiled it in /opt/mangos... have the maps, vmaps and dbc files and put them in the right folders..I have created all three databases with the .sql files and have edited the .conf files to connect to the databases

I have changed my realmlist.wtf file

Now what do I do? is there something i have to run? or should I just be able to connect now? What is the final step?

yes you have to start the mangos server and the mangos login server before you can connect the binary files u have to run are in the /opt/mangos/bin folder (or should be atleast).

but since you are making the effort to setup your own server why not move to something better? try Trinity Core its what we use here at the den and i promise its better

Those files arent in my bin folder..I think the binaries are messed up...all that was in there was a genevision file or something like that

Anyway, Im goimg to try out Trinity it seems much better
