Iam soon lvl 71 and no new spells, but we get more talents.

Mounts do work. I'm currently trotting around on a Swift White Steed.

talents go all the way. buy a horse gold is easy to find

I would have more other questions:

I saw that the criticals by the mage doesn't work( and the vulnerabilty at the scorch spell doesen't too). Is it possible that you could fix this? This is only a question, because than i think the mage doesnt have so any mean, so i will choose an other class. I didn't play wow for a long time, but i saw so that the intellect don't increase the damage just give more chance to criritacal, and when it is so that the criritcals don't work, than you will have the same damage at lvl 60 as at lvl 100 /+ a little from the talents/.
I say again, that i didn't play for a long time, so if i think this total wrong than pls told me.

I saw that the +spelldamage on the weapons, or armors dont works too.

Other: Has it any mean for a mage to learn sword or dagger to use? Or they aren't so good like the staff? When it has reason, than whic to choose?
