Actually, by the look of the combat log, it would seem that you were the one attacking. considering you casting aspect of the hawk which gives power in ranged, him/her casting blink to get away.

Hardly any conclusive evidence there.

It could be seen like that,

when going into a duel i cast either aspect of hawk if it's a caster, or aspect of the cheetah for melee, if i'm going to run away from a caster i use aspect of the monkey, and use monkey / cheetah for running from melee classes.

i also wouldn't be calling my pet if it was already dismissed or casting trueshot aura while running away id be thinking about an ice trap for them to run into. and i hate sacrificing my pet when there is no need.

The mages blink could be interpreted as running away / chasing the hunter, or moving close so he cant range attack.

If there was a full combat log on screen (which is whats needed for conclusive evidence against imo) showing the first attack till the last (you can easily extend combat log as big as you want it to get all the info on screen in 1 shot if your lazy) then maybe what really happened would be shown.
