well since we got this server to use, I'd like to know who some of us will be, I'm gonna go for a dwarven Warsmith at first, then a Dark avenger or paladin, so I will post my char's name when we I finish setting my game up, and I will start up a clan when possible I suppose, wanna decide on a name?

Give me a message in the game if I'm on guys. I was playing in the afternoon for a few hours today. As soon as we get the Bulletin Board (Community page or "B" key in-game) back up in the game working, it should be much easier to leave messages and stuff to each other.


I just started Kesla this morning and she's already level 14. And the rates are at 2x normal. I was able to fully utilize all of the newbie quests, class quest, armor exchange, get newbie buffs, port around via newbie teleport tokens and pretty much everything else you can think of, and I had NO issues with the exp rates or anything the way they are now. I had NO issues with getting money, SP, exp, you name it. It was perfectly fine the way it is. And the best thing is I didn't miss anything but being level 30 and wondering if I had finished all of my newbie quests, heh.

I honestly think we should leave it the way it is. 10-15 rates seem to be a bit too high now that I think about it, imo. So I would like to retract my statement from the other topic. The most I'd go is 5x. There was a good balance without it making the game overly too easy right now.

I'm actually proud of my Kamael. Full Bone gear with my new Rapier/Newbie Soul Sword and about 13k Soul Shots, lol. And I had enough money to get the skills I needed and still had about 4k adena left over. I say leave it the way it is, honestly. But if it needs to be raised, then no more than 5x. If you want the million adena weapon, then start grinding for it. It shouldn't be something you would get at level 30 anyways since you can't even use it. By the time you can actually use it, you should have plenty in the bank at this rate anyways.

If it aint a fast lvling like getting to 78(forgot highest lvl you can get to) in day i might not play, last L2 server i played on was like that really high rates but was s ill fun IMHO so if its not that fast probably wont play :/, I do might be Dark Elf Blade Dancer or Elf Sword singer or a Kameal.

What rates are considering then, Ama? Like I said, I wouln't mind boosted rates, but setting them really high would be pretty pointless to me. But that's just me.

Well, KingPin boosted the rates for now to see how it goes. I updated the other topic with the rates.

It's not overly bad or anything. But I did already encounter my first required group quest which is going to be an issue since Darthas was the only one on at the time and he was across the world, lol. I just had to skip it and continue on with my other ones.

and you didnt even say hi u basterd.. well anyway im kinda a newb for now at this game (although im learning rather quickly) and i must say i like the new rates.. although i wouldnt mind a slight increase in money, but thats only because im finding it a lil difficult trying to juggle purchasing weapons/armor for myself and my pet as well as buying scrolls/materials. other then that everything seems rather nice and im enjoying the game alot.. to increase player support of the L2 server, perhaps we could add a server side announce in our other servers to show that we have this one up so players might want to come over.. just a thought.

well i havent be able to becuase been working OT and also moving soo dont have much time, but rates should be like i dunno i dont rememebr but i liedk when i dont have to worry about lvling much like getting top lvl in one day they way the server i was on did like were can sub class becuase make yea way over powered so, as long so i dont have to wory about lvling much im prefectly fine and server that was on always had atleast 100+ people on with those kind of rates.

That's the thing. What kind of people do we want on the server here? I'm all for grouping and helping people out, but I'm not about to play on a server that has ludicrous rates on it. There's plenty of those around. Even if we were to bump the rates to say, 35x, and get to level 100 with everything you've ever wanted, then what? There's no viable population to warrant these changes. It's all about longevity. Like I said earlier about the retail servers goes for the same here.

I don't know why it's so hard to just sit there and play the game. I'm already level 22 and just became a Warder with my Kamael. I've had absolutely no issues with the exp or anything. I can understand how it may get slower when you get in higher levels, but there's plenty of quests in the game (most repeatable for money and EXP) to get you through the slump.

I'm certainly in no rush to get to level 80 or whatever and do stuff. I love running around and doing things naturally. Which brings me to another problem peope are also complaining about.

Traveling.

I don't know about you, but I've had no issues here, either. I always talk to the Newbie Helper and get my free buffs, and I'm on my way. The buffs last an hour, so that's more than enough time to get from point A to point B. Yes, there is a free running speed buff included. And if that's not enough, there's free teleports to areas in the game. Yes, FREE. You can use your travel tokens or just click on a GateKeeper and get teleported to where you want to go, or at least close to it. Every dungeon and city has teleports, so I really don't know what the problem is. There's even teleports to halfway marks in between other places as well. Once you get a Stider or mount, it's just that much better. With these rates, it shouldn't take long at all. Back when I played the game, you had to pay for teleports even if the next town was only a 20 minute run. I hear complaining about things that aren't as bad as how it used to be. You guys are really spoiled as it is.


RaXavier69, I know you want these really high rates, but what would be the point of it if you get your character transfered over? Is it for the sake of wanting to level a new character from scratch, or what's the deal with that? There's really no need to have such high rates, imo, if you're already going to be the highest level character on the server if that happens. You would be sitting there at level 78 or whatever with nothing to do because we'd all still be in our 20's and still playing to catch up to you. I can understand that maybe you do not want to do everything over when you make a new character, but in all honesty, I've been playing/coding the game for years now and I have never, ever, complained about it at all. To me, the rates as they are now is a big bonus.


I say everyone just play.

It's not just a game with shiny graphics, there's actually a deeper game system there if everyone actually took the time to read the NPC's text.

If there's any complaints, let's hear them. So far, everyone (two people) want higher rates for the sake of leveling to 80 in a few days or so. There doesn't even seem to be an interest in it other than you guys. Anyone that's been playing or lurking on the server obviously doesn't care about it enough to even have an opinion on it, lol. And we've already raised the rates... twice. And it still hasn't gotten people to hop on and play the game. It's pretty much a moot point, imo.
