No question about it. If you want a dwarf and want to level fast, make him a hunter. Dwarfs get a bonus to their skill with guns and hunters get pets to help them out. Every hunter I've met has leveled faster than any other class I've played.

If you're not sure about the name, try the "randomize" button. It might give you some ideas. And you can modify the name from there.
